Obituary for Howard D. Irvin

Howard D.  Irvin
Howard D. Irvin , 69

of Frenchville died on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his home.

He was born on November 12, 1942 in Surveyor, a son of the late Homer and Vivian (Stiner) Irvin.

Mr. Irvin retired as an owner operator in the trucking business. Prior to that, he was self employed in the lumber industry, running a sawmill and logging. In his early years, he worked in the strip mines. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1960-1963.
Howard loved being outside working his farm and tending to the cows. Most recently, he especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by four children, David M. Irvin and wife Connie of Lecontes Mills, Ernie E. Irvin of Frenchville, Connie E. English of Frenchville, Wayne L. Irvin and wife Denise of Frenchville; seven grandchildren, Pamala Garito, Rebecca Ann, Katelyn and Zachary Irvin, Brittany Ditty, Wesson Shimel and Isaac and Matthew Irvin; brothers and sisters, Joe Irvin of GA, Tom Irvin of Clearfield, Judy Owens of Lecontes Mills, Sarah Amon of Shawville, Jeff Irvin of Woodland, and John Irvin of Frenchville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. (Renaud) Irvin on October 21, 2006 and whom he wed February 8, 1964 in Frenchville. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Stimpson and two brothers, James and Ron Irvin.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Eden Cemetery, Shawville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 N. Third Street, Clearfield.
