Obituary for Geynet H. Owens

Geynet H.  Owens
Geynet H. Owens, 85, of Woodland died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home.

He was born on October 26, 1927 in Woodland, a son of the late Merrill and Wava (Dixon) Owens.

Mr. Owens was a dairy farmer all of his life. He was affiliated with the Lake Street United Methodist Church, Woodland and was a member of the former Main Street United Methodist Church, Woodland.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla J. (Stevens) Owens whom he wed June 7, 1950 in Woodland; five children, Edwin Owens of Watsontown, Brian Owens and wife Karen of Woodland, Shawn Owens and wife Debbie of Morrisdale, Holly Carr and husband Robert of Morrisdale and Michele Dixon of Clearfield; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a brother, Russell Owens and his wife Maxine of Woodland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons Ivan Ray Berringer, son of Michele Dixon; and Kevin Shane Owens, son of Shawn and Debbie Owens; and a daughter in law Patti (Lingle) Owens, wife of Edwin Owens.


Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sean Patrick Smith and Rev. David Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and on Saturday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health - Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield or to the Lake Street United Methodist Church, 115 Lake Street, Woodland.
