Obituary for David J. Eisenman

David J.  Eisenman
David J. Eisenman, 69, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on January 20, 1945 in Oil City, a son of the late Thomas I. and Helen (Switzer) Eisenman.

Mr. Eisenman retired in 1988 from the Shawville Power Plant after 20 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and a former member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and the IBEW #1124. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Lois A. (Bailey) Eisenman whom he wed April 26, 1969; a daughter, Virginia L. Hancock and husband Tony of Harrisburg; two sons, David J. Eisenman Jr. and wife Ann of Hagerstown, MD and Gregory S. Eisenman and wife Beth of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, Hannah, Nicholas, Jonah, Nathan, Lucas, Zachary, Isaac, Joey, Wriley and Camden; a sister, Janice Bentz of Allentown; two brothers, Thomas James 'Jim' Eisenman and wife Kathy of Hollidaysburg and William Eisenman and wife Sue of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Kathryn Way Henchbarger; a brother-in-law, Dave Bentz; and a sister-in-law Janice Eisenman.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 1:30 pm with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Military honors will be accorded at cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday Noon - 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield.
