Obituary for James P. Vogel

James P.  Vogel
James P. Vogel, 73, of Clearfield died on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on January 19, 1941 in Houtzdale, a son of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Ruffner) Vogel.

Mr. Vogel retired in 2003 from J.G. Food Warehouse, Clearfield as a meat cutter after 20 years of service.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and the Clearfield Loyal Order of the Moose #97. Mr. Vogel served his country with the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret J. (Faust) Vogel whom he wed October 31, 1964 in Houtzdale; three children, James Vogel Jr. and wife Terri of Houtzdale, Edward Vogel and wife Terri of Grampian and Margaret 'Peg' Barnes and Scott of Clearfield; and ten grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Greenaway and Margaret Gray; and two brothers, Robert and John Vogel.

Services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in the Brisbin Cemetery I.O.O.F.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 9-10 AM .

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 South Second Street, Clearfield.
