Lois J. Rowles, 87, of Mineral Springs died on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.

She was born on June 18, 1927 in Clearfield, a son of the late John and Carrie (Burns) Ruffner.

Mrs. Rowles had been employed at the former McGregor's Sportswear for many years before joining her husband, Ted, at the family business, Montgomery Ward in Clearfield. She also enjoyed making macramé items and tending to the family's garden.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore 'Ted' V. Rowles whom she married on February 8, 1947; three sons, Richard Thomas Rowles of NY, Theodore Allen Rowles Sr. and companion Brenda Coulter of Glen Richey and John David Rowles and wife Darlene of Clearfield; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and two sisters, Katherine Black of Altoona and Sandra Ogden of Hyde.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Anna Maines; three sisters, Nadine Nebgen, Helen Cutler and Clara Seaburn; and a brother, John Ruffner.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 am with Josh Maines officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17001.
