Obituary for Joseph J. Vallimont

Joseph J.  Vallimont
Joseph J. Vallimont, 91

of Clearfield died on Monday, February 9, 2015 at his home.

He was born on January 22, 1924 in Somerset, a son of the late John H. and Anna (Steinkirchner) Vallimont.

Mr. Vallimont was employed with the United States Postal Service for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, Knights of Columbus Council #409, Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, Clearfield.
Mr. Vallimont was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Force with faithful service to his country.

He is survived by his wife, LaRue M. (Hoover) Vallimont whom he wed October 15, 1956 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, .

Mr. Vallimont was the last member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Edward Vallimont.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10:00 am with Father Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Military honors will be accorded at cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Friday from 9-9:30 AM.

A Christian Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st Street, Clearfield.
