Obituary for James F. English Sr.

James F.  English Sr.
James F. English Sr., 88, of Woodland died on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on October 2, 1927 in Benezette, a son of the late William Ira Sr. and Jennie (Zimmerman) English.

Mr. English was employed by Greenwich Collieries for 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1988. He attended the Bible Tabernacle Church, Woodland and was a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield.

He is survived by his son, James English, Jr. of Woodland; three grandchildren, James English III and wife April, Tonya Bloom and Anthony English and wife Wendy; six great grandchildren, Kearston and Ivy Mae Casher and Kayla, Logan, Aidan and Nolan English; a great great grandson, Zayden; and three sisters, Charlotte, Janet and Edna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iona M. (Turner) English on March 1, 2002 and whom he wed April 8, 1950 in Bradford. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Judy English; a grandson, Jacob Casher; several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth R. Pry officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 AM until the time of service.
