Helen M. Taylor, 99, of Clearfield died on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Knickerbocker Villa, Clearfield.

She was born on January 4, 1917 in Hyde, a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Catherine E. (Rafferty) Danver.

Mrs. Taylor was a skilled seamstress and was head of the local union. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and volunteered at both the St. Francis Cafeteria and at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for many years. Mrs. Taylor also loved to bowl and enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by four children, Rita Maher and husband Howard of Richardson, TX, Anita Liptak of Harleysville, Quay Taylor of Clearfield and Mark Taylor and wife Kitty of Clearfield; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosella Duttry and Ruth Ann McCracken, both of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Elry Taylor on March 8, 2000, whom she wed May 10, 1952. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Jessica Lynn Taylor; three sisters, Jane Coons, Lois Danver and Alice Danver; and two brothers, Frank and James 'Bump' Danver; and a son-in-law, Louis Liptak.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10 AM with Fr. James Power as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and on Friday from 9-9:30 AM.

At the funeral home on Thursday, a Christian Vigil service will be held at 1:45 PM and the Rosary will be said at 5:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield.
