Obituary for Gloria M. Kachman (Lockett)

Gloria M.  Kachman (Lockett)
Gloria M. Kachman, 86,of Clearfield, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

She was born on October 24, 1930 in McCartney, a daughter of the late Clayton and Pearl (Freeman) Lockett.

Mrs. Kachman had been employed by the Cigar Plant, Philipsburg and Clearfield Cheese before moving to the Pittsburgh area. While in Pittsburgh, she made her home in North Versailles and retired from Mine Safety after more the 25 years of employment.

She loved music and was a member of many choirs and had loved to yodel. Her family was a very important part of her life. She particularly was fond of playing with her children when they were young, decorating the house and cherished watching everyone open Christmas presents.

She is survived by two children, Linda Dunlap of Olanta and David Dunlap and wife Brenda of Olanta; one step son, Joseph Kachman, Jr. of El Paso, TX; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Elinsky and husband George of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kachman on August 10, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Salter; and five brothers, Carl I., Clayton Jr., Frank Cyrus, Clair D. and Rev. Lee Lockett.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11 AM with Pastor Jim Walk officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 PM and Wednesday 10-11 AM.
