Obituary for Leo L. Collins

Leo Landis Collins, 71, went to meet his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born May 15, 1946 at Clearfield, he was the son of the late Lester P. Collins and Marie Carr Collins

He was a 1965 graduate of Saint Francis School. Mr. Collins had worked on his family farm until after high school, then worked at Target Sportswear, Sanitary Milk Company and retired in 2003 from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation after 32 years of service. Mr. Collins served with the Army Reserves from 1965 until 1972, doing basic training in Fort Leonardwood, MO. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Curwensville.

Leo enjoyed gardening and canning, watching NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State football, day trips with his wife and spending time with his family.

On February 4, 1967 at St. Francis Church in Clearfield, he was married to Nancy L. Gillen, who survives. He is also survived by four children, Lisa Gormont and husband Terry, Holly Morgan and husband William, Shawn Collins and wife Julie Michaels and Nicole and her fiancé Andy Allen. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Emily Gormont, Ben Gormont, Dustin Morgan and wife Samantha Coder, Chad Morgan and fiancé Ashley Skebo, Cody Graham, Ethan Collins, Noah Collins, Richard Harris IV, Andrew Harris and Kathryn Harris; and a great grandson Kael Morgan. He is also survived by three brothers, Daniel Collins and wife Rose Evanko, Gary Collins and wife Jean Shaffer, and Terry Collins and wife Terry Werdell; two sisters, Sandy Wise and Julie Beish and her husband Bill; a sister-in-law, Jean Norris Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David Collins and his wife Joan, and Colin Collins; an infant granddaughter, Abigail Gormont; and a nephew Christopher Collins.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Curwensville, on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the church on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM.
