Obituary for Alfred P. "Al" Pallo

Alfred P. 'Al' Pallo, 78, of Clearfield died on Monday, December 4, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on July 23, 1939 in Hawk Run, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Patrick) Pallo.

Mr. Pallo retired in 1994 after thirty three years of teaching and serving as a secondary counselor at the Moshannon Valley School System.

He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Clearfield having served as a past Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks #540 of Clearfield, the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Club, the Pulaski Club of DuBois, the Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Company, the Croation Club in Smoke Run and the Lincoln Political Club. He was also a member of the Lock Haven Alumni Association.

He was a graduate of Morris Township High School, Lock Haven University and Indiana University of PA where he received a Master's Degree. Al enjoyed playing the accordion for most all of his life in various polka bands, most recently the Vagabonds.

He is survived by three children, Christine Owens and husband Michael of Clearfield, Patrick Pallo and wife Megan of Clearfield, and Paulette Kitko and husband Ken of Flinton three grandsons, Jude Patrick Pallo, Matthew James Pallo and Luke Andrew Pallo; two sisters, Theresa Szucs and Barbara Schaar and husband David, all of OH; a brother, Joseph Pallo and wife Tillie of Hilton Head, SC; a sister-in-law, Kerry Kane Gardner and husband Dave of Dover, DE; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggie K. (Kane) Pallo on April 15, 2012 and whom he wed August 10, 1963 in St. Francis Church, Clearfield.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10 AM with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 2-8 PM and on Friday from 9-9:30 AM.

At the funeral home on Thursday, the a Christian Vigil Service will be observed at 1:45 PM and the Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund or to the St. Francis Adopt A Student, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield..
