Obituary for Eleanor Anne Peters (Briggs)
Eleanor Anne Briggs Peters, age 95,
Centre Crest, Bellefonte, PA, formerly of Curwensville, PA, died on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
Born in Shinglehouse, Potter County, PA on February 8, 1922, she was the daughter of Warren and Ella DeGroff Briggs. She married Arthur J. Peters on March 4, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2005. A brother Stanley also preceded her in death.
A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she taught English and business courses for 26 years at Curwensville Area High School. She was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, where she previously served as an elder.
Survivors include three children: Carol Krajewski and husband Andrew of Walkersville, MD; Janet Friel of State College; and Arthur Peters and wife Alice of Winston-Salem, NC. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Alison Krajewski; Steven Krajewski and wife Georganne; Justin Krajewski and wife Cathy; Nathan Krajewski; Rebecca Friel Kennedy and husband David; Austen Peters and wife Mary Ann; and Eric Wilson and wife Heidi. In addition, she was blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Madison, Ashlyn, and Jackson Krajewski; Samantha Boucher; Eve, Fiona, and Jane Kennedy; and Halle and Sydney Wilson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In remembrance of Mrs. Peters, memorials may be made to the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833 or the Curwensville Area High School Library, 650 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833 or the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, 430 Locust Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
