Emery Sturniolo
Dear Rose, Mickey, John, Chris, Angelo, Grandchildren, Catalano Family, Sturniolo Family and friends of Rose and Roy,
We are heartbroken at the passing of our dear Brother-in-law and Uncle Roy. We especially appreciated Roy’s nurturing, love, and fidelity to Rose during their 71 years of marriage.
Roy was one of the most kind, intelligent, gentle, and gracious persons we have ever known. He was a wonderful father and had a personality that made everyone comfortable and relaxed in his presence. His mechanical and gardening skills and willingness to help others with problems in these areas was exceptional. Roy continually amazed us at the extent of his reading and the depth of his knowledge of history, especially military history.
We always looked forward to his bright smile and unassuming manner that would welcome us any time we visited with him. In all the years we were privileged to know him, we cannot remember one time when we saw him to be disrespectful, cross, unreasonable, or angry with anyone. He had an endearing smile and a way of moving his eyes during a conversation that conveyed his love as well as his humility, intellect, and respect for your views.
This great man makes us proud of the example he has set in creating a truly positive image of Italian American men. Roy will always live in
our hearts.
Love,
Geena, Emery, Mella, Anthony, and Michael Sturniolo
