Obituary for Robert S. Collins

Robert S. Collins, 69

of Clearfield died on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the UPMC Altoona.

He was born on December 4, 1948 in Clearfield, a son of the late Robert L. and Evelyn M. (Marsh) Collins.

Bob was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
After returning from the war, he was employed at Miller Dairy as a milkman. He then served an apprenticeship in meat cutting with Super Duper. From there Bob was later employed with Bi-Lo - Riverside Markets and retired from JG Food Warehouse.
He was a member of Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6. He was methodist by faith. In his younger years, Bob played fast pitch softball and enjoyed fishing. Outside of his family, his other two loves were animals and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He is survived by his wife, Susan E. (Hubler) Collins whom he wed April 11, 1970 in Winchester, VA; a daughter, Bobbie Sue Brooks and husband Mark of Clearfield; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Kayla Brooks. He is also survived by four brothers, William Collins, Larry Collins and wife Cheryl, Mark Collins and Russell Collins and wife Heather; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denny and Joseph Collins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals 275 21st Street, Clearfield, PA, 16830.
