Obituary for Vera C. Martell (Maines)

Vera C.  Martell (Maines)
Vera C. Martell, 74, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

She was born on March 29, 1944 in Shiloh, a daughter of the late Cyrus and Mildred Maines.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church, Curwensville was she was very active with numerous church activities. She especially enjoyed teaching Bible School, assisting with church dinners and caring for the children in the nursery.

She is survived by eight children, Harry Spade and wife Lori of Clearfield, David Martell and wife Myrna of Clearfield, Brian Martell and wife Brenda of Hyde, Lisa Singer and significant other Bill Korb of Woodland, Gregory Martell and wife Marcie of Clearfield, Thomas Rowles of Clearfield, Hugh Rowles of Frenchville, and Anthony Rowles of Clearfield; nineteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; a brother, Cyrus Maines of Rossiter; and four sisters, Virginia Steele of VA, Iona Spade of Irvona, Lillian Hannold of Reynoldsville, and Bonnie Hile of Clearfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh D. Martell on February 17, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Maines; and four sisters, Verda Graffius, Dorothy Mabie, Rose McBride, and Donna Maines.

Funeral services will be held at the Community Baptist Church, Curwensville on Tuesday at 11 AM with Pastor Todd Hogue officiating. Interment will be in the Keewaydin Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
