Obituary for Henry 'Hank' B. Royer

Henry 'Hank' B.  Royer
Henry B. 'Hank' Royer, 83, of Frenchville, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

He was born on August 6, 1933 in Frenchville, a son of the late Francis and Mary (Lachat) Royer.

Mr. Royer graduated from Clearfield High School in 1953 and was employed with PennDOT for 26 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frenchville. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Leigey Renaud Post 8386, Frenchville where he was a founding member of the Color Guard, serving as commander for 46 years from 1964-2010. Mr. Royer was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Viard) Royer whom he wed February 7, 1959; six daughters, Susanne English and husband Dean of Middletown, Jean Peake and husband Jim of Linglestown, Nancy Hoover and husband Tim of St. Marys, Mary Kay Royer of Frenchville, Melanie Royer of Frenchville and Nicole Fedder and husband Todd of Frenchville; eleven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister, Monica Cardon and husband Frank of Rochester, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Swisher; and a brother, Kenneth Royer.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frenchville, on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. David A. Perry Jr. and Fr. Philip Billotte as celebrants. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

Military honors will be accorded at cemetery by the member of the Frenchville Leigey Renaud Post Honor Guard Post 8386.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and at the church on Friday from 10-11 AM.

At the funeral home on Thursday, the Rosary will be recited at 5:45 PM followed by a Christian Vigil Service at 6 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, PO Box 159, Frenchville, PA 16836 or to the Young People Who Care Ministry, PO Box 129, Frenchville, PA 16836.
