Carl F. Burfield, 91, of Curwensville died on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home.

He was born on October 6, 1925 in Faunce, a son of the late Alden Uriah and Georgianna (Bloom) Burfield.

Mr. Burfield retired from Penn Lines Inc. He also served during World War II as a member of the US Army. He loved spending time with all of his family, as well as his dog, Lady.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Elizabeth (Wiley) Burfield; eight children, Steward Burfield and wife Sherry of Olanta, Linda Test and husband Ken of Curwensville, Carol Conklin and husband Larry of Clearfield, Sharon Burfield of Clearfield, Susan Warrick and husband Sam of Clearfield, James Burfield and Mike of FL, Elizabeth Queen and husband Denny of Curwensville, and David Burfield and Anita of Lemont. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he dearly loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter, Esther Burfield; two sisters, Margaret Showden and Esther Lanager; and four brothers, Athol, Morse, Charles and Elmer Burfield.

At the request of Mr. Burfield, there will be no visitation or funeral services held. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville Christian Church, 700 State Street, Curwensville.
