Francis Ireland, 82

formerly of Croft died on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

He was born on May 20, 1928 in Madera, a son of the late A.T. and Mabel K. (Peters) Ireland.

Mr. Ireland retired from the Lady Jane Colliers Coal Co., Penfield where he was employed as a deep mine coal miner.
He served in the US Navy during Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two sons, Daniel L. Ireland of Morrisdale, David L. Ireland and wife Donna of Philipsburg,
three grandchildren, Amanda, Aaron and Alicia Ireland, a sister and two brothers, Thelma Scheon of TX,
John Ireland and wife Nancy Ann of OH, Clair Ireland and wife Ruth Ann of Curwensville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther M. (Smeal) Ireland on April 25, 1995 and whom he married May 23, 1953 in Clearfield and a sister and brother, Pauline Smith and Clifford Ireland.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Eden Cemetery, Shawville, RD.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and the Clearfield VFW Posts’ honor guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Friday from 10-11:00 AM.
