Aaron Joseph Ross, 29
Son of Sally MacDonald Lippart of Curwensville and Charles J. Ross of Clearfield
Aaron died at his home in Portland Oregon on Wednesday, October 8, 2003.
He attended St. Francis Catholic School where he was on the basketball team, played trumpet in their music department and was an altar boy. He also was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated in 1992 from Clearfield Area High School where he was a member of the Track and Field Team and a member of the first Soccer Team at the school. His senior year at Lock Haven University he studied abroad at the University of Glascow, Scotland, toured many parts of Europe and graduated in 1999 with a B.S. Degree in Outdoor Recreation and Land Management. He was also active in the theater group at Lock Haven University and appeared in several plays. He taught elementary education in Queens, New York City for 2 years and at Buckman Elementary, Portland. On October 13, 2003, Aaron was posthumously awarded his Masters degree in education from the Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR.
He was part of the inspiration that developed the climbing wall at the Clearfield YMCA. He was an avid outdoorsman, mountaineer and bicyclist. He had a great passion and talent for photography and literature. He was a published author.
There was a gathering held with close friends and family, including his mother and aunt, as well as a formal memorial dedicated to him at Lewis and Clark Chapel, Portland. His ashes were scattered over Multnomah Falls in Oregon and in Pennsylvania.

Christopher A. Ross and his wife Bethany and their four children of Ft. Hood, Texas and currently serving with the US Army in Korea

He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Virginia V. MacDonald and his paternal grandfather Andrew J. Ross.
A Memorial Mass will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Monday, October 20, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from 2-9:00 PM and on Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield from 8:30 -10 AM.
A memorial service will be said by Dr. Duane A. White at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre, 112 East Locust Street, Clearfield, the American Cancer Society, 119 E Market St., Clearfield or to the charity of ones choice.
