Albert P. Bracco, 89, of Clearfield died on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at his residence.
He was born on April 3, 1917 in Hastings, a son of the late Michael and Agatha (Mirabella) Bracco.
Mr. Bracco served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in Clearfield and Clinton Counties for three years. He was also employed by the B & O Railroad and later at Electric Supply in Clearfield. He founded his own electrical business; which later became known as Bracco & Goss. Mr. Bracco also owned and operated the White Shamrock Motel & Cocktail Lounge in Clearfield. He retired in 1977.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Council 409 of the Knights of Columbus and a 4th Degree Knight. He was a member of the Sons of Italy.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Gross) Bracco, whom he wed May 20, 1983 in Clearfield; a son, John M. Bracco and wife Joan of Clearfield; a granddaughter, Jennifer Whipkey and husband Bryon of Wexford; three great grandchildren, Alec Whipkey, Grace Whipkey and Alaina Whipkey all of Wexford; a sister, Loretta Mautino and husband Robert of Irwin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Banco and Virginia TeCarr; and three brothers Thomas, John and Donald Bracco.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2:45 PM.
