Alice M. Carter, 75, of Clearfield died on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on March 10, 1931 in Bishtown, PA, a daughter of the late Ruben and Vada (Lytle) Manahan.
Mrs. Carter performed housework for many local families.
She is survived by four children, Joe Ann Royer of Clearfield, Lois Ann Kanouff of Curwensville, Albert Carter, Jr. of Curwensville, Edward Carter of Clearfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Marion Starr of Clearfield, Sarah Miller of Clearfield, Henry Manahan of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Carter, on January 6, 1981 and whom she married March 12, 1955 in Clearfield, a son Jerry Manahan, four sisters Lillian Manahan, Phoebe Manahan, Clara Crandell, and Emily Hadsock Morgan and a brother Lincoln Manahan.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Lowell MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield
