Alta M. Blankley, 90 of Curwensville died on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.
She was born on March 18, 1918 in Glen Hope, a daughter of the late Frank and Ollie (Bloom) Van Scoyoc.
Mrs. Blankley was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Curwensville where she taught Sunday school.
She is survived by two children,

Carla Prisk and husband Don of Curwensville
four grandchildren,
James Prisk and wife Joy
Kathryn Sue Hutton and husband Dennis
Jennifer Bailey and husband Keith
David Blankley
three great grandchildren,

Aaron Prisk
Emma Hutton
a brother,
Roy Van Scoyoc and wife Margretta of Ginter
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. "Jim" Blankley, on December 20, 2001 and whom she wed November 22, 1940 in Curwensville, three brothers,
Frank, John, and Herbert Van Scoyoc, and four sisters, Berneath Swartz, Hazel Van Scoyoc, Myrtle Bloom, and Edith Keith.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7:00 PM and on Monday from 10-11:00 AM
