Althea J. Peters, 89, of Woodland died on Monday, October 10, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on February 28, 1922 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Burton and Roby (Rothrock) Peters.
Mrs. Peters was a homemaker and also was employed at the former Mauer's Convenience Store in Woodland.
She attended the Lake Street United Methodist Church, Woodland.
Mrs. Peters enjoyed crocheting and knitting as well as gardening, cooking and canning for her family.
She is survived by a son, Bill Peters of Woodland; a granddaughter, Maridawn Peters of Woodland and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd G. Peters on July 12, 2010, a sister Hazel Kerr and a brother Joseph Peters, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at
11:00 A.M. with Pastor Sean Patrick Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 777 Penn Center Blvd, Suite 200, Pittsburgh PA 15235.
