Alvin L. Proud, 69, of Grampian died on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at his residence.
He was born on January 29, 1936 in Lawrence Township, PA a son of the late Gordon and Alice (Norris) Proud.
Mr. Proud had been a self-employed timber man since 1976. He was also a member of the Iron Workers Local #772 and a welder in the strip mines.
He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grampian where he was a member of the men's association.
He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Curwensville Noble Lodge #480, a Charter Member of the Clearfield Creek Rifle Club and coached mini league baseball for eleven years.
He served in the US Army from 1959 until 1962.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (McCartney) Proud, whom he married August 24, 1963 in Grampian, a sister and two brothers, Irene Sipes and husband Leland of Curwensville RD, Blair Proud of Olanta and Glenn Proud and wife Brenda of Curwensville and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grampian on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Pauls United Methodist Church Building Fund, Sixth Street, Grampian.
