Amor W. 'Chub' Miller, 92, of Shawville, died on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born on March 9, 1931 in Shawville, a son of the late Gerald and Cora (Ogden) Miller.
He was Methodist by faith, being active in both the Fleming and Goshen Methodist Church. Chub retired from serving during the Korean and Vietnam Era's with the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic. He served with the Presidential Executive Flight Detachment Unit, Army One presidential helicopter. He served with President's Johnson, Nixon and Ford. He then worked at Clearfield Bank and Trust as well as Thompson and Buck. Mr. Miller enjoyed traveling, as well as camping, fishing, hunting and even dabbled with a little woodworking.
He is survived by his five children, L. 'Scott' Miller and wife Patty of Georgetown, SC, Bryan Miller and wife Peggy of Curwensville, Kevin Miller and wife Lorey of Shawville, Pam Wriglesworth and husband Clay of Grampian, and Ken Miller and wife Robin of Woodland; numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and two step daughters, Wanda Thompson and husband Dave of Fleming, and Brenda Kelley and husband Doug of Woodway, TX.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcia (Fisher) Miller; his second wife, Hannah Miller; and a brother, Vaughn Miller.
Funeral services will be held at the Goshen United Methodist Church, Shawville on Friday at 11 AM with Pastor Bob Henry officiating. Interment will follow in the Eden Cemetery, Frenchville.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM as well as at the Goshen United Methodist Church on Friday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield American Legion, 210 S. 2nd St, Clearfield, PA 16830.
