Arlene O'Donnell

Arlene F. O'Donnell, 99, of Rochester Hills, MI, formerly of Clearfield, died on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Bellbrook Senior Living, Rochester Hills, MI.

She was born on September 15, 1924 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Patterson) Hipps.

Arlene graduated from Clearfield High School in 1944. Her first job was at the former Dufton's Hardware of Clearfield, then later worked at Leitzinger's Department Store, the Clearfield County Courthouse, and First Commonwealth Bank where she would retire from.

Mrs. O'Donnell enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, church activities, and volunteer work.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Wiethron of Rochester Hills, MI; her son, Dennis O'Donnell and wife Laura Jacobs O'Donnell of Rochester, NY; a grandson, T.J. Wiethorn of Rochester Hills, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. O'Donnell on April 26, 2010 and whom she wed December 24, 1946 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Duane Hipps, John Hipps, and Carl 'Eddie' Hipps; and life long friend, Charles Richard Bumbarger.

Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11 AM with Raymond Stiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 - 11 AM.
