Arnoldine A. 'Copie' Copenhaver, 82, of Johnstown, formerly of Clearfield, died on August 2, 2013 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
She was born on August 3, 1930 in Coudley, a daughter of the late Arnold and Mary (Johnston) Hudson.
Copie graduated from the Clearfield Hospital Nursing School in 1952 and was employed as a registered nurse serving during her career as a supervisor and director of nursing. In addition, she worked as a nurse anesthetist. Copie always lived a life of service, helping others whenever she could. Also, her greatest joy was traveling with her grandchildren. Some of her other interests were her love of fishing, hunting, crocheting, bingo and was also known for having a jig-saw puzzle 'in the works.' Copie was also a member of the 29 and holding square dance club.
She is survived by four daughters, Irene Ohler of Johnstown, Carol Lauver and husband Gary of Clearfield, Valerie Lockett and husband Ricky of Johnstown and Debra Hockenberry and husband Willie of Clearfield; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and three sisters, Pat Ross of Philipsburg, Madeline Keating of Philadelphia and Marie Miller of Emporium.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. Copenhaver on December 5, 2011 and whom she wed November 30, 1952 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Pittman; a brother, John Renaud; a beloved son-in-law George Ohler and her precious aunt Ella 'Mom' Charlton.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9-11 AM .
