August N. "Beef" Hugney, 61
of Grampian died on Friday, May 4, 2007 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on June 21, 1945 in Philipsburg, a son of Dorothy (Frelin) Hugney of Frenchville and the late Anthony August Hugney.
Mr. Hugney was currently employed with New Century Transportation of Westhampton, NJ and had previously worked for Milton Transportation.
Also, he owned the Down River Delight in Frenchville for 10 years.
He was a 1963 graduate of St. Francis High School, Clearfield and member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Grampian.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen (Rowles) Hugney, whom he wed May 7, 2001 in Williamsburg, KY,
children,
Anthony O. Hugney and wife Patricia of Pittsburgh, Carrie L. Benton and husband Adam of Karthaus, Tammy L. Lingle and husband Cory of Frenchville, Michael A. McDonald and wife Brenda of Curwensville, Cindy L. Bloom and husband Howard of Lumber City, Kim Horton and wife Amy of Lumber City,
grandchildren,
Anthony Hugney, Jr., Nolan Ryan Hugney, Alexis Josephine Benton, Reese Ethan Benton,
Sean Michael McDonald, Travis Brent McDonald, Brandon Fahy McDonald, Trevor Horton and Kayla Horton
a sister and brother, Cecelia 'Cece' Kelly of Hyde, Philip Hugney and wife Jeanne of Frenchville,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by children, Cathy McDonald and Mark McDonald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark S. Swoger as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday from
1 - 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9 - 10:15 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:00 PM
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Main Street, Grampian or St. Mary Catholic Church, PO Box 159, Frenchville.
