Barry G. Peoples, 82, of Clearfield, PA, passed away at his home on November 21, surrounded by his family.
Born in Clearfield on June 23, 1941, he was the son of the late Ina Broad Peoples and Clifford L. Peoples.
Barry graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1959 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania before beginning his career as a Spanish teacher at Curwensville Area High School. He later became a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where he retired after 30 years.
Before his failing health, he never missed an opportunity to donate blood to the American Red Cross. He was a member of the Clearfield Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge of Clearfield.
Barry enjoyed watching football, playing the lottery, and poker with his friends every Tuesday. He was an avid reader and gun collector.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Constance (Connie) Robbins Peoples, whom he wed on April 20, 1963.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Gail Carbol (Patrick) of Lexington, KY, and Leanne Kassab (Scott) of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Matthew Carbol (Kylie) of Brookfield, WI, Thomas Carbol of Lexington, KY and Paige Spingola (Alex LaBue) of Clearfield; and a great granddaughter, Carsen Carbol. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Rowles (Harry) of Clearfield.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield on Saturday, December 16 at 11am with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10-11am.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
