Benedict W. Hughes, 74
of 1411 Village Road, Clearfield died on Friday, April 19, 2002 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on March 25, 1928 in Philipsburg, PA, a son of the late Richard and Josephine (Powers) Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was the owner of the Beres and Hughes Dental Laboratory in Clearfield from 1953 until his retirement in 1997.
A graduate of Osceola Mills High School he then served in the US Navy during WWII.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and the Herder Spring Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Peg (ONeill) Hughes whom he married October 28, 1954 in Osceola Mills,

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Dennis C. Hadberg and Monsignor Joseph K. Bobal as con-celebrants. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from 7-9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9- 9:30 AM.
Rev. James C. McKee will recite the rosary at the funeral home on Monday at 6:45 PM.
