Bernard Lee 'Bernie' Mohney, 76

of Indiana, PA died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the St. Andrews Village Nursing Home, Indiana.

He was born on April 23, 1935 in Clearfield, a son of the late William M. and Lena (Beish) Mohney.

Mr. Mohney retired from Penelec at the Keystone Station, Shelocta where he was employed as a boiler mechanic. Prior to that, he worked for the railroad around the Clearfield area. Mr. Mohney also helped his son-in-law with carpentry and masonry projects, as well as being very involved with the Clearfield County Fair. He enjoyed hunting and always took great pride in having a well-groomed lawn. Mr. Mohney was also very involved with the Boy Scouts having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #314, Clearfield, and the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department for more than 50 years. He served with the U. S. Army.

He will be remembered most for his love toward his family.

Mr. Mohney's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Horizons Hospice of Altoona for all of their help and support they have offered.

He is survived by his wife, Erma E. (Graham) Mohney whom he wed January 18, 1964; two daughters Jorena Perry and husband Jim of Mount Joy and Jean Ann Fulmer and husband David of Indiana, PA; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Benjamin, Brianne Shenandoah and Justina, Austin, Marina and Asha Fulmer; two step grandsons Shane and Jake Perry; a brother Larry Mohney of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Eva Jean Gearhart and a brother William Mohney Jr.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11 AM with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge #314, 505 Cumberland Street, Clearfield; or to the West Side United Methodist Church 317 Nichols Street, Clearfield.
