Betty Elensky

Betty M. Elensky, 86, of Curwensville died on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born on April 6, 1926 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Shubert) Hale.

Mrs. Elensky retired from Kent Sportswear after 30 years of service and was also an Avon Representative for 36 years. Betty enjoyed reading, getting her hair done every Friday and above all, cherished being a mother and homemaker. She was the last member of her generation.

She is survived by four children David Elensky, Mona Jean Tomera and husband John of Medfield, MA, Gary Elensky and wife Janice of Grampian and Roger Elensky and wife Sue of Curwensville; three grandchildren Kristin Coudriet and husband Mark of Curwensville, Melissa Elensky of Blandburg and Roger Elensky II of Curwensville; and a great grandson Dean Coudriet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry W. Elensky on December 16, 1968 and whom she wed September 26, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Clearfield; two sisters Alice Hipps and Clara 'Louise' Beightol and three brothers Bill Shubert and John and Creighton Hale.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with Gary Jewart officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, Peggy Sass, 223 Hill Street, Curwensville, the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
