Blanche Alvera Maines, 87, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on August 11, 1926 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Frank and Inez (Battisti) Stella.
Ms. Maines was most recently employed at Mercy Mission. Prior to that, she worked at Kent Sportswear, DuMont Airplane and Marine and at Trichon Manufacturing. Ms. Maines was very proud to earn her high school diploma in 1998.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Ms. Maines is survived by her daughter, Brenda Wilt and husband Robert of Lumber City; two grandchildren, Brad Wilt and wife Amanda and Kristy Richards and fiance Robert Frailey; seven great grandchildren; and a sister Flora Kukla of IN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Fanny Eckel and Jennie Lombardozzi; and two brothers, James and Albert Stella.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 AM with Father Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 5-7 PM and on Saturday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 4:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield.
