Braden Andrew Maines, 25
of Clearfield died on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Clearfield.
He was born on July 23, 1985 in Clearfield, a son of Patricia (Krise) Crater of Curwensville and the late Andrew Maines.
Braden attended Clearfield High School where he played on the Bison Basketball team. He then transferred to Curwensville and played for the Golden Tide Basketball team. He graduated from Curwensville High School in 2004 and in the same year graduated from the masonry program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center.
He also played basketball in the various leagues at the Clearfield YMCA.
Braden was previously employed by Steffan Masonry of Pine Glen and the WalMart Distribution Center, Woodland.
He loved animals, especially dogs and particularly Drake.
An avid sports enthusiast, he loved basketball, ping pong, miniature golf, canoeing, skiing and hiking to his favorite lookout spot.
He was a true Oakland Raider fan and on the collegiate level was a fan of Michigan football.
Braden was kind and compassionate and had many friends and family members who loved him dearly including his mother, Patricia, his step father, Kevin Crater of Curwensville, his step mother, Norma Maines of Karthaus,
sister, Amity Perks and husband Cory, Osceola Mills, a step sister and step brother, Angela Lucas and husband Troy of Karthaus, Curt Trude and wife Alicia of Clearfield, two nieces, Aaliyah & Bethany,
maternal grandparents, Ronald & Norma Krise of Shiloh, Alvin and Judy Harris of Spring Valley,
paternal grandmother, Donna Ditty and companion Rob Owens of Frenchville,
his girlfriend, Alyssa Emigh and her daughter Kelsey of Clearfield,
and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father Andy, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Andrew Maines, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Sean Patrick Smith officiating. Braden will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus with his father.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11:00 AM
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 815 State Street, Curwensville.
