Butch 'Farmer Butch' Buck, 78, of Woodland, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on May 21, 1946, in Woodland, a son of the late Harvey and Mary (Maines) Buck.
He attended Clearfield Area High School and went on to join the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War as an Aircraft Electrician, being stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Upon his return home, he drove tri-axle until his retirement.
Butch was a member of the VFW Post 1785, where he enjoyed visiting with friends. Known to many in the community as Farmer Burch, he enjoyed raising beef cattle as well as hay baling with his nephew, Brian.
Butch is survived by two sisters; Mary Joan Buck of Woodland, and Shirley Lindstrom of Morrisdale; a special nephew, Brian and his companion Justine Dixon of Woodland; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Perry, Robert, John, Charles, Kenneth, and Albert Buck; two sisters, Esther Lee and Lelia Maines; as well as a good friend, Jacob 'Jay Bird' Cramer.
At the request of Mr. Buck, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at the Clearfield VFW Post 1785 on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 5 PM.
