Calvin Martell

Calvin D. Martell, 93, of Surveyor passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on November 24, 1924 in Clearfield, a son of the late Wilbur and Eva (Stiner) Martell.

He was a member of Flegal Road Church of Christ, Clearfield. Mr. Martell was a founding member and long time fire chief of the LeContes Mills Fire Company.

He is survived by three children, Sharon Picard of Clearfield, David Martell, Sr. of Clearfield, and Diana Shaw and husband David of Curwensville; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren; and a sister, Norma 'Dovie' Ireland of Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Gloria (Hunt) Martell on January 15, 2018 and married in 1944. He was also preceded in death by two children, Duane Martell and Donna Stiner; a great grandson, Jeffrey Martell, Jr.; a sister, Cathryn Graham; and a brother Floyd Martell, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11 AM with Raymond Stiner officiating. Interment will be in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 5-8 PM and Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
