Carl R. Gathagan of Clearfield passed away on November 2, 2021.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 29, 1962 to Patricia (Weller) Gathagan and Richard Gathagan.
Carl was a 1980 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School. Carl enjoyed golfing, hunting, and spending time with his children.
Carl became a chef after graduating from Johnson and Wales Culinary School of Providence, RI. Although cooking was his passion, and after many years as a Chef, Carl pursued a career in nursing after receiving his RN from Lock Haven University. He was well loved by his patients and colleagues at Fresenius Kidney Care, where he was a clinical manager for over 7 years before his passing.
Above all, Carl was a devoted and loving father. He never missed his daughter's cheerleading events or his son's baseball games.
Along with his parents, Carl is survived by his son, CJ Gathagan and wife Haley (Mckendrick), and his daughter Hunter Gathagan. Also surviving are his sisters, Karen Gathagan Peck and husband Charles (children Callie and Margaret), and sister Maureen Gathagan and husband Nicholas Sidorick (children Luke and Zoie); and special friend, Eva Kowal.
Carl was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Helen Weller; paternal grandparents, Carl D. and Vernadean R. Gathagan; maternal aunt, Helen Miller and husband Donald; paternal aunt, Sandra Dixon; a niece, Angel Gathagan Peck; and a good friend, Charles Henry.
A public visitation will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Saturday November 6, 2021 from 11 AM - 2 PM. Masks are required and social distancing must be followed.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
