Carl C. Shomo, 86, of Clearfield died on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on August 5, 1932 in Lewistown, a son of the late Roy and Pearl (Glace) Shomo.
Carl worked as a carpenter and also worked as a heavy equipment operator in coal fields, both in Pennsylvania and Texas. In his spare time he loved to hunt and fish.
He was a member of the Flegal Road Church of Christ
Shomo served with the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. (Caffey) Shomo whom he wed April 27, 1956 in Clearfield; four children, Stephen Shomo Sr. and wife Cheryl, Sherry Saltsman, Patti Shomo, and Tod Shomo and wife Mary; four sisters, June Juran, Joyce Valenza, Betty Wing, and Linda Ardery; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Carl Shomo, Jr., Gary A. Shomo, and Gregory P. Shomo; four brothers, Cloyd Glace, Paul Shomo, and Philip Shomo, and Lynn Pierre Shomo; and three sisters, Dorothy Long, Helen Taylor, and Lola Hardin.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday at 6 PM with Raymond Stiner officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM & from 3 PM until the time of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Flegal Road Church of Christ.
