Carol Menard

Carol Ann Menard, 84, of Clearfield died on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born on August 16, 1939 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Peter and Pauline (Kozak) Giza.

Carol was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and Clearfield County Vo-Tech, from which she obtained her LPN degree. She worked as an LPN at the Clearfield Hospital for 28 years.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

She is survived by her sons, Chris Switala of Palm Harbor, FL, and Jerry Switala of Catlett, VA; step daughter, Robin A. Menard of Pittsburgh; step son, Roger Menard Jr. of Hollidaysburg; three granddaughters, Elyse and husband Baron, Emily and husband Callum, and Tessa and husband Robby; four step grandchildren, Andrew and wife Lindsey, Alison, Alec, and Anthony; ten great-grandchildren, Maive, Isla, Baron, Hudson, June, Zane, Finley, Adeline, Mateo, and one on the way; a sister, Margaret 'Peggy' Slifko of Morann; a brother-in-law, Pete Siano of Morann; a niece, Cindy; and two nephews, Terry and Tim.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger O. Menard on April 14, 2011. She was also preceded in death by step father, Steve Murawski; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Switala; a sister, Linda Siano; an infant brother, Jerry Giza; a brother-in-law, Leonard Slifko; and a nephew, Rob Siano.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10 AM with Fr. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ramey.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 4-7 PM and Tuesday from 9-9:30 AM.
