Caroline F. 'Carrie' Moore, 90, of Clearfield died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at her home.
She was born on August 1, 1926 in Osceola Mills, a daughter of the late Concetto 'James' and Philomena 'Fannie' Marcella.
Carrie was a popular singer and yodeler in the central Pennsylvania area. She was part of a musical trio with her sisters Violet and Virginia where they performed at numerous picnics, parks and old-time medicine shows. She later sang and played bass for over 20 years with her husband's band, Bud Moore and his Hillsdale Hillbillies, after which she retired and spent the rest of her life devoted to her family. She was a lifelong member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by fourteen children, Carolyn Moore Gormont and husband Jeff, Edgar 'Buzz' Moore III, Robert Moore, James Moore, John Moore and wife Jennifer, Thomas Moore, William Moore, Joseph Moore, Anne Moore Coulter and husband Albert, Margaret 'Peggy' Moore Wooster and husband Mark, Michael Moore and wife Janie, Patrick Moore and wife Marilyn, all of Clearfield, Teresa Moore Gormont and husband Richard of Houtzdale, and Richard Moore and wife Linda of Clearfield; and 105 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar 'Bud' Moore Jr. on April 26, 2010 and whom she wed on December 6, 1943 in Phoebus, VA. She was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Moore; two grandsons, Jesse Moore and Allen Lee Moore; and eleven sisters and brothers, Laura, Adeline, Violet, Virginia, Mary, Anna, Josephine, Peter, Andrew, Raymond, and an infant sister who died in Italy.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10 AM with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.
On Tuesday at the funeral home, the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM and a Christian Vigil service will be held at 4:45 PM.
