Carrie V. Casamento, 81
of Clearfield died on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
She was born on March 23, 1923 in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late Tindero 'Charlie' and Maria (Fama) Casamento.
Carrie was a 1941 graduate of St. Francis Parochial School where she earned the American Legion Award for Academic Excellence. Upon graduation, she was employed by the Governor's office in Harrisburg, a short time before moving to Washington, DC to begin her employment with the federal government as a supervisor and administrative assistant to the director of the Department of Public Health Services.
After retirement, Carrie returned to Clearfield where she was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic minister, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Blue Army. Carrie was Chapter President of the Clearfield Citizen's Concern for Human Life Committee for a number of years and an officer of the Clearfield's Council of Republican Women.
She is survived by three sisters,

Margaret Spataro and husband Carl Mechanicsburg
four brothers,
John Casamento and wife Theresa Rehoboth, DE
Victor Casamento and wife Mitti Sterling Park, VA
Phillip Casamento and wife Jeanie Waldorf, MD
Frank Casamento and wife Sherry State College
and 21 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 9-9:30 AM.
On Friday at the funeral home, a Christian Vigil Service will be said at 1:45 PM. and the rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.
