Catherine E. Coder, 96, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at her home.

She was born on October 7, 1917 in McGees Mills, a daughter of the late Harry and Alverta (Macinich) Sharp.

Mrs. Coder was a homemaker. She was an active member and very dedicated to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield

She is survived by her four children, Pearl Russell of Grampian, Kay Strishock of Brockway, Sylvia Knepp and husband Leo of Woodland and Kenneth V. Coder and wife Charlene of Clearfield; twenty six grandchildren, fifty four great grandchildren, twenty three great great grandchildren and one great great great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest V. Coder on July 3, 1987; a son, James R. Coder; and infant son, Ernest Coder; a daughter, Florence Haag; four sisters, Mable McFarland, Jesse Smith, Martha Grace and Florence Saylor; and six brothers, Alvin, John, David and Harry Sharp and James and Frank Kougher.

Funeral services will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow in the Owens Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and at the church on Friday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christian and Missionary Alliance Church 45 Alliance Road Clearfield or to the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church, in care of Joyce Miller, 9679 Old Erie Pike, Clearfield, PA 16830.
