Catherine Louise Shirey, 70, of Clearfield died on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born on February 6, 1952 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late John and Vera (Showden) Smith.
Mrs. Shirey retired in 2007 as a emergency medical dispatcher for Clearfield County. She loved spending time with her family and friends and also enjoyed crocheting. She was a life member of the Clearfield VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Lee Shirey of 52 years; three daughters, Kendi Jo Kester and husband Bryan of Springville, NY, Deann L. Marshall and husband Paul of Heathsville, VA, and Dr. Kari Ann Shirey of MD; four grandchildren, Alyssa Marshall and fiancé Frank Baughman of Clearfield, Cody Marshall of Houtzdale, Gabrielle Kester of Springville, NY, and Ryan Kester of Springville, NY; one great grandson, Milo Dispenza of Springville, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. Smith; maternal grandparents, Urban and Magdalene Kolbe; and paternal grandparents, William and Kathryn Showden.
As per Mrs. Shirey's wishes, there will be no public services held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
