Cecelia B. Merrey, 86, of Clearfield died on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on November 20, 1920, a daughter of the late Edward and Esther (Stephens) Luzier.
Mrs. Merrey was a member of West Side United Methodist Church.
She was a homemaker and was employed as a secretary at the former Harbison Walker during WWII. She enjoyed the outdoors, bowling, golfing and going to camp.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis L. Merrey and wife Shari of Clearfield and George W. Gaylor III and wife Marty of Nottingham, MD, 5 grandchildren, Jodie Merrey, Julie Baum and husband Michael, Andrew Gaylor and wife Linda, Beth Ann Vaught and husband Stephen and Alayna Null; 4 great-grandchildren, Nickolas Baum, Rachel Vaught, Noah Gaylor and Luke Gaylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband George W. Gaylor Jr. on January 14, 1945, her second husband Myron D. Merrey on May 27, 1998 and whom she wed December 7, 1947, six brothers Durl, Marshall, Russell, Fay, Lyle and Perry Luzier, and a sister Flora Luzier Stuller, and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jay E. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 10-11:00 AM
