Charles Hobart "Mike" Callahan, 88
of 206 West Front Street, Clearfield died on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Knickerbocker Villa, Clearfield.
He was born on January 13, 1916 in Clearfield, a son of the late Winfield Scott and Ruth (Straw) Callahan.
Mr. Callahan, along with his wife, owned and operated the former Crown Distributing Co. of Clearfield, retiring in 1972. Prior to that, he was an associate of the former Clearfield Coco-Cola plant in which his father Winfield Scott and uncle Hobart founded in both Clearfield and DuBois.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and served in the US Army during WW II having attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a former member of the Clearfield Rotary Club, the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, the F. Michael Sicks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785, Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, the Clearfield Loyal Order of Moose #97, the Old Town Sportsmans Club and a life member of the Third Ward Hose Company.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred W. 'Millie' (Wendel) Callahan, whom he married May 30, 1942 in Charlotte, NC

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Michael Scott Callahan, sisters and brothers, Helen Lance, Dorothy Matthew, Winfield Scott Callahan, Jr. and Jack Callahan.
A memorial mass will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 Honor Guard.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or to the charity of one's choice.
