Charles J. Ettaro, 85 of Clearfield died on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on October 10, 1924 in Clearfield, a son of the late Nick and Rose (Gardina) Ettaro.
Mr. Ettaro was employed by the former Harbison Walker Refractories for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 and the Disabled American Veteran's.
He served in the US Army during World War II.
He is survived by a sister and brother, Mary S. Ettaro and Samuel A. Ettaro and wife Millie all of Clearfield; two sister-in-laws, Ann Ettaro of Clearfield and Shirley Ettaro of State College; two nieces, three nephews, four great nieces and two great great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Russell, Anthony, and Philip Ettaro and a nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1:30 PM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW posts honor guard.
At the request of Mr. Ettaro, there will be no public visitation.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Church, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield or to the American Cancer Society, 26 South Second Street, Clearfield.
