Charles R. Hess, 76

Of Curwensville-Tyrone Highway, Olanta died on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at his residence.

He was born on March 16, 1928 in Clearfield, a son of the late Scott W. and Abigail A.(Flegal) Hess.

Mr. Hess was employed by the Clearfield Cheese Company as a Truck driver. He then worked with Duke, Lynch, and, Eshelman and retiring from Clearfield Equipment as a diesel mechanic. Mr. Hess was also elected to serve as a Knox Township Supervisor.

Mr. Hess was a member of the Robert Ferguson Post # 842 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Curwensville, the American Legion of Curwensville, Joshua Earl Sipes Post #505 and the Loyal order of Moose, Curwensville.
He served in the U.S. Army during Korean Conflict having attained the rank of Sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. (Smeal) Hess, whom he married December 5, 2000 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary E. Hess, on December 27, 1999, and two brothers, Mitchell A. Flegal and, Richard A. Hess.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olanta RD.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 12-1:00 PM
