Chauncey D. 'David' Harmic, 96, of Grampian, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
He was born on July 26, 1924 in Grampian, a son of the late Chauncey and Lena (Spencer) Harmic.
Mr. Harmic was employed by PennDOT for twenty years before retiring in 1984. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Matthews Coal Company of Grampian.
He served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 of Clearfield. He was Methodist by faith
He is survived by his son, Daniel D. Harmic and Faith of Curwensville; three grandchildren, Dana Milo and husband Tony of MD, Sherry Gardner and husband Scott of Hepburnia, and Nathan Harmic of Curwensville; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette I. (Spencer) Harmic on April 11, 2006 and whom he wed October 19, 1946 in Rockton. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Harmic; two sisters, Bertha Hubler and Emma Harmic; and four brothers, Earl, Forrest, Max and Tom Harmic.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 72 N. Sixth Street, Grampian, PA 16838.
