Chester R. 'Chet' Dale, 89, of Clearfield died on Friday, December 9, 2022 at his home.
He was born on June 22, 1933 in Madera, a son of the late Leslie C. and Pearl M. (Davis) Dale.
Mr. Dale retired from TAFCO as a Sheet Metal Journeyman after over 30 years of employment. Being born in Madera, he began his working career as an apprentice with his father. He was also a certified master mechanic for Chrysler. Chet was a member of many organizations, including being a Boy Scout troop leader, a Little League coach and the Free and Accepted Mason Clearfield Lodge #314 where he was a past master. He was a member of the Chinklacamoose square dancing club, the National Campers and Travelers (NCT) and the United Commerical Travelers (UCT) where he held local and state offices. Chet, along with his brother, had started the ambulance service in his hometown of Madera. He continued his passion of emergency volunteering by being a member of the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department. Chet was a 'jack of all trades' and in his spare time, he loved to hunt, fish, camp, and play golf.
He served during the Korean Conflict with the US Navy. Chet was also a member of the local VFW and American Legion in Clearfield.
He is survived by six children, Janet Boyd and husband Mark of Clearfield, Nancy Dale of Clearfield, Arlene Perry and husband Leroy of Lancaster, Paul Dale of Clearfield, Donna Rineer and husband Edgar of Cresson, and John Dale and wife Diane of Chester, VA; fourteen grandchildren, Denise Boyd, Derrick Dale, Kayla Dale, Kevin Dale, Albert Hunsiker IV, Christopher Hunsiker, Mathew Hunsiker, Meagan Perry, Breanna Dale, Edgar Rineer Jr., Dean Rineer, Jill Rineer, Gavin Dale, and Erica Dale; and seventeen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann (Morris) Dale on April 3, 2017. He was also preceded in death by siblings Marion C. Dale, Sylva Jean Redden, Harmon L. Dale, and Lorraine Page. He was the last of his immediate generation.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearifeld on Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded at funeral home by the members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9-11 AM.
