Clair Morris

Clair D. "Shorty" Morris, 84 of Clearfield died on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on December 8, 1924 in Bigler, a son of the late John P. and Sarah (Greene) Morris.

Mr. Morris was employed as a truck driver for Bradford Coal Co, Inc.
He was a member of the Bigler United Methodist Church, the Iron Workers Union Local No.772 where he served as a business agent and the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 812, where he served as a trustee. In addition, he belonged to the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785.
He was also a U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.

He is survived by three children,

Judy Page and husband Jerry of Woodhaven, MI
Suzette Heichel and husband Dale of Woodland

his long time companion, Delores "Dee" Hess of Clearfield and her children,

five grandchildren,
Susan Little and husband Randy of Morrisdale
Barbara Liptak and husband Rick of Morrisdale
Kristie Keene and husband Bill of MI
Kim Page of Woodhaven, MI
Jerry Page of Woodhaven, MI

six great granddaughters,

and two brothers,
Cecil E. Morris and wife Dorothy of Woodland
John A. Morris and wife Margaret of Stuart, FL

Funeral services will be held at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Thomas C. Lenker officiating. Interment will follow at Bigler Cemetery, Bigler.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Posts honor guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10-11:00 AM
